Hey, this is Corbett- as a consultant, I’ve been using software to very precisely calculate the design heating and cooling loads of homes across the country for 10 years now. I ran the calculations on my own forever home and our TinyLab- but I went to a specialist to select the equipment, design the ductwork, and choose the grilles and registers. I’ve always wanted to understand how the entire design process works, and have the ability to do it myself- so I read ASHRAE Fundamentals Chapters 8, 30, and 35, along with all the ACCA Manuals: Manual J, Manual S, Manual D, and Manual T (plus Manual LLH for Low Load Homes).
This self-paced video course is the distillation of what I believe anyone needs to understand in order to perform accurate calculations for loads, equipment selection, duct design (of all types), and terminal fittings (registers) in homes both new and old. It is NOT a training in a specific software (like Elite RHVAC or Wrightsoft), but it includes one hour of coaching if you’d like to focus on that.
