2012 IECC Coming to Illinois!!!

Thursday, September 29th, 2011 by corbett

Thanks to our state legislators, as of June 1, 2012, blower door tests will be required for every new home, renovation, and addition across the state!  This is great news for all the homeowners, HERS Raters, BPI professionals, contractors and builders across the state, and here’s why:

  1. The blower door is, at its very core, nothing more than your opportunity to prove that you do better work than the competition.
  2. Homeowners can breathe easy that their home is retaining as much conditioned air as possible, while verifying that they do have enough fresh air to maintain perfect air quality.
  3. Less silly mistakes in the construction of homes means fewer unhappy homeowners, fewer callbacks for contractors, fewer lawsuits, and more time for everyone to spend with their families, not thinking about work!

So get ready for Illinois to take a leadership position in the U.S. as a hot spot for the best residential construction practices!  If you or a contractor you know needs hands on training in air sealing or insulation practices, check out our Air Sealing and Insulation Installer Training Series.
