About Our Training Center

The Building Performance Workshop is outfitted to allow for onsite combustion testing and hands-on inspection and advanced diagnostics, plus a fan lab courtesy of Panasonic.

All the educational materials, including curriculum, models, our BPI Manual, and even the posters on the walls, are custom made by Building Performance Workshop. Every student has a comfy chair, table space, and access to our Resource Library, where over 50 books on building science are available to be borrowed for free.

Hands on airsealing and insulation work is also integrated through the use of BPI approved hands-on assemblies. Learn to use spray foam, weatherstripping, caulk, drywall, rigid foam, and safety equipment in a practiced, efficient manner.

The training center is housed alongside the offices of Green Dream Group's Chicago Home Performance division, and the Illinois Association of Energy Raters & Home Performance Professionals (IAER).

Our building is located in Andersonville, one of Chicago's best neighborhoods. There are tons of fantastic places to eat, and fun things to do if you're visiting us from elsewhere and staying in the neighborhood. Contact us for a list of recommended bed and breakfasts and hotels.
